If You're Tired of Holding Everything Together

You may look capable on the outside while running on empty inside. The one others rely on. The one who pushes through. The one who says “I’m fine” even when it is getting harder to believe.

This book is for that quiet exhaustion; the kind rest does not fix.

Why Doing Life Alone Eventually Stops Working

You can be strong, disciplined, and responsible—and still reach a point where self-reliance starts to feel heavy instead of empowering.

Over time, carrying everything by yourself takes a toll. Often in the body first. Then in your sense of direction. Then in your ability to feel joy at all.

This book speaks to that moment.

Where This Book Came

This book didn’t begin as an idea.

It began here:

This book was written after I woke up from critical care and learned what had happened while I was unconscious: my staff crossed the island in dangerous weather to reach the mainland, doing everything they could to keep me breathing.

At that point, staying alive was no longer something I was capable of doing for myself.

These essays are drawn from my journal, and from the people who carried the story forward when I no longer could.

After a sudden fall that led to a broken leg and surgery, I've been sitting with a lot of thoughts and feelings on grief, hope and mortality. I feel really supported by Suzie sharing her journey. She is both a fighter and a nerd and I'm looking forward to understanding how she managed to make sense of her experience and put her world back together.

What the First Readers Are Saying

Oh my god, Suzie, I cried. It was so heavy, but in a good way. It touched my heart from a perspective I’ve never known before.  Looking forward for the next chapter. I can’t explain—it’s so amazing. I love each sentence. It’s so easy to read and so clear.

~ Mery, Germany ~

You can tell it is not written by AI because the words carry raw, human emotion—the confusion, the fear, and the quiet moments of gratitude. Her writing doesn’t just recount events. It pulls you in so deeply that you are not just reading her story, you are living it with her and carrying her strength long after the last page.

~ Jerelle, Philippines ~

Love it. Super fan of your work. I love how you write. You take us with you in that moment.
